Meet just some of the dogs helped by GRWE over the last year...
Greyhound Rescue West of England (GRWE) is the leading greyhound rescue charity in England and Wales, independent of the greyhound racing industry. We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of abused, abandoned and unwanted greyhounds and lurchers, and re-home over 500 of these special dogs every year. We started as a small operation in the West Country, and now have a presence across much of the country - so we can give many more greyhounds and lurchers the chance to find their forever home.
We are entirely reliant on donations and fundraising efforts. Our hounds would be very grateful for any support you can give - please visit our Justgiving.com page to donate!

GRWE takes in greyhounds and lurchers from members of the public, veterinary surgeries, pounds and the police. We also help trainers and owners rehome their racing greyhounds and some dogs also come to us from general rescue centres. Some greyhounds also come from as far afield as Ireland and Scotland if resources allow.
GRWE rescue hounds of all ages, from puppies to golden oldies! Some dogs are cruelty cases, physically and emotionally scarred and damaged. We nurse them back to health and help them learn to trust humans again. Some are so scarred by their ordeal they need a long period of foster care before rehoming, others need very special permanent homes.
